Why did you choose this programme? (2-3 top reasons)

6 responses

1. For practice calligraphy 2. Price is reasonable 3. Time suitable

  • I’ve always loved Chinese paintings and calligraphy and wanted to learn how to paint / write the characters; I was particularly intrigued by the idea of combining calligraphy with breathing technniques.
  • Allways wanted to.
  • Relaxation, new skill, and use of brush work.
  • It appeared professional and artistic and affordable.
  • I’m interested in drawing. Working with ink and meditative practices. It seemed a perfect combination.

What is one thing that you enjoyed the most?

  • Practice calligraphy with some guides.
  • The mindful action of creating the characters and breathing. It is very relaxing, but at the same time, I am completely focussed on the strokes.
  • Everything.
  • Using ink and a brush, i liked the early sessions scripts (weeks 1and 2).
  • Hard to choose, everything has been great.
  • Calm athmosphere and having heaps of time to practice calligraphy.

What did you wish to see in the programme (and it wasn’t provided?)

  • More guides individually.
  • In the poster advertising the course, it mentioned Carl Jung. I would be intrigued to learn more about his work and how it Rts with calligraphy.
  • NA
  • All good so far, great to have our own sets to use and create the ink.
  • n.b general comment: would like to do more – but not if the the cost goes up.

Would you recommend this programme to others?

Would you like to carry on with the calligratheraphy programme? (10-week intermediate programme will focus on Standard and Running script with Chinese Shui-mo painting (painting with ink) incorporated into the lesson plan for a holistic experience)

If you want to carry on, what would you like to add to the programme?

  • More Rnal art work to take home as a result.
  • I would be happy if the programme followed a similar style – breathing / Tai Chi and calligraphy. If it could include something on Jung, that would be great.
  • More of the same. It’s awesome.
  • Keeping it simple is good, I wouldn’t want to do too many scripts, I like the addition of shui mo painting.
  • At half-way point in the class, a mini-break to all do the breath again.
  • Would be happy to continue with the scripts we were introduced to without adding a new aspect. (Has been heaps of interesting material already )

Any other comments?
